Learn Photography from Scratch — One Click at a Time

Welcome to BeginnersClick — your friendly guide to learning photography from scratch.

Are you new to the world of photography? Do terms like aperture, ISO, shutter speed, and focal length feel confusing or intimidating? Maybe you’ve just bought your first camera—or perhaps you’re using your smartphone but want to take better photos. Whatever the case, you’ve landed in the right place.

At BeginnersClick, our mission is simple: to help absolute beginners learn photography in an easy and enjoyable way.

We know how overwhelming it can feel in the beginning. All those buttons on your camera, all the YouTube tutorials throwing jargon at you, all the gear reviews — it’s a lot. That’s why we created this site as a beginner-friendly guide that speaks in plain English (not camera code!).

Whether you’re shooting with a DSLR, mirrorless, or even just your phone, we’ll walk you through everything step by step. You’ll learn how to move beyond Auto Mode, master manual settings, understand lighting, improve your composition, and develop a creative eye — all at your own pace.

Why I Started This Journey

I know how overwhelming learning photography from scratch can feel. I remember the first time I picked up my camera. The excitement was real, but I was also confused by all the buttons, settings, and terms. I thought photography was just about pressing a button, but soon realized it’s so much more. It’s about capturing a moment, telling a story, and expressing emotions. But here’s the thing: you don’t need a fancy camera or years of experience to start learning photography from scratch.

Photography should be fun, creative, and stress-free. Learning photography from scratch doesn’t require complex gear or professional knowledge. You can start right now!

"Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything." - Aaron Siskind

My first journey with photography

As a photographer, I’ve seen many beginners overwhelmed by technical terms and complex settings. That’s why I decided to create this course – a beginner’s guide to photography that breaks down the basics in a clear and easy-to-understand way so that one can easily make him/her a photographer.

At the very first time when I bought my first DSLR camera, that time I wanted to know about basic photography learning like others, but knew nothing about photography. I faced lots of problems and didn’t find any better basic photography courses on the site or the internet. That time I decided to write a basic photography course for absolute beginners and those who want to be photographers.

Why I made this course

If you go to other photography courses, they will teach you lots of technical terms, but as a newcomer or beginner photographer, you won’t be able to understand those terms. For that reason, most people like you who went there to learn photography find it difficult to follow because of the difficult terms and language.

I write in the easiest way to learn basic photography. If you are interested in becoming a photographer, or rather, a first-time cameraman, please continue to the next paragraph. Otherwise, it will be the worst time for you.

Essential Guide to Choosing the Right Gimbal

Gimbal photography is a modern technology and a beneficial instrument for photography and videography. However, most photographers don’t use gimbals and do not know their benefits. Before this article, I had been using gimbals for the past year. It’s a terrific instrument for photography. Without using it, no one can realize its potential.

There are different types of gimbals, each serving a specific purpose.

Now, let’s move on to learning more about gimbals.

Why It’s All About Storytelling in Photography

When I first began learning photography from scratch, I realized it wasn’t just about taking a picture. It was about telling a story, freezing an emotion, and capturing a moment that words can’t fully express. Photography became a way to connect, to show the world how I saw it, and to make memories last forever. I want to help you do the same.

Each guide and tutorial on this site comes from my own journey of learning photography from scratch — from the mistakes, the failures, and the victories. I’ve been where you are, and I’m here to help you overcome the same challenges and grow.

A person learning photography from scratch, holding a camera while sitting in a cozy environment with an open book on the table.

Let me tell you something funny.

When I first started taking photos, I honestly believed I was killing it. I’d spot something cool—a flower, a friend’s face, a colorful sunset—and snap the shot with the subject perfectly in the center. I thought that was the way to do it.

But when I looked at the results, something felt… off. Not terrible, but not right. My photos didn’t feel alive.

For the longest time, I blamed my gear, the light, or even just bad luck. But deep down, the problem wasn’t any of that—it was my composition.
More specifically, my lack of it.

That’s when I stumbled upon the Rule of Thirdsa simple idea that completely changed the way I frame a photo. From messy, forgettable snapshots to meaningful images that tell a story—this one “invisible grid” became my guide.

Macro Photography with Extension Tubes

A close-up macro shot of a pale yellow butterfly perched on a dried plant, with text overlay reading "Extension Tubes for Macro Photography."

Macro photography is an exciting and challenging genre that allows you to capture the smallest details in stunning clarity. One of the essential tools for macro photographers is the extension tube. It shortens the focusing distance of your camera lens, enabling you to take incredible close-up shots. However, as with any equipment, there are limitations you should be aware of.

In this blog, we explore how extension tubes work and the limitations they come with in macro photography. We’ll cover topics like image quality, light loss, and depth of field, so you can make the most out of your macro shots while understanding the equipment’s boundaries.

Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned photographer, this blog will help you get the best results with your extension tubes. Learn how to avoid common pitfalls and perfect your macro photography skills!

Mastering the Reverse Lens Technique

Are you interested in macro photography but don’t have the budget for a macro lens and other equipment? It’s not a big issue for macro photography. When I started macro photography, I didn’t have enough money to buy a macro lens.

So, what did I do at that time? Yes, you are thinking right; I started with my current lens by reversing it. I was astonished to see the result. I think if you are interested in taking macro photos, you can start by reversing the lens instead of buying a macro lens.

Now, let’s move on to learning how it can be possible…..
